That is the best advice.. I was in a similar situation years ago and took the easy way out and had another job lined up. Somehow it got back to them and the goofy son called me in and was all “gee shucks”. If I would have taken the above advice it would have looked better. Same result when they found out I was about to leave though and my arse was gold after.

Asked said bully to take a walk. Head right over to the owners office and ask the owner if his behavior is okay with company policy. Tell owner the whole office has a problem with it.

Your mistake was not telling him you don't want to hear crap from him the first time he picked on you. Once you let someone do that, they'll keep it up.
You don't have to hit him to shut him up. Just get in his face, tell him to shut up, and hope he strikes you.
If you don't want to bait him into doing more than running his mouth try this. Carry a digital recorder, and turn it on any time you see him coming. Keep a record, with dates and times. When you feel like you've got enough of his bad behavior chronicled, take it to the companies HR person.

Just giving sound advice no matter what.
Finding another job is always an option, but he didn’t ask if he should quit or not. He asked how to handle a bully. Who gives a damn who it is, I would, have, and do this even when times are good.
I always cover my arse and verbal directives are always followed up with emails for a written acknowledgment of approval or directive. Has served me well over my career on many occasions.
