All these assholes moved out west from the south and midwest after the "Summer of Love" and ruined the place. Y'all can have them back.

A lot of people leaving the deep blue shiteholes have learned their lesson, or are conservative at heart and simply can't put up with the crap any more.

Conversely, some people just don't learn.

My daughter's friend in NC said how much she hated "All of these damn Yankees moving in threatening to mess up a good thing." My daughter said, "Carol, you were from NJ."

Some of those escapees become the most ardent resistance to liberal change because they have real experience with it.

The Mrs(no pics) and I are coming south boys, probably South Carolina. Our two kids are already there. Good news though, all four of us are red!

I know a few even though Louisiana hasn’t been hit hard. It’s always the same “y’all are so much nicer and food is great” followed by complete trashing of the state, people in the south, education, etc. and I get it, but move back

Eta: If you are a miserable person in California or New York, moving to a small “charming” southern town isn’t going to change that, but too many of y’all can definitely take away the small and charming part

My ancestors landed in Plymouth Rock in 1620.

How do we solve the problem of thrashy people who arrived since?

I’ve got news for you bub, if you’re ancestors landed at Plymouth Rock, they were pretty low on the trashy scale of Victorian England

Having spent time all over for work, the trash is pretty much the same everywhere. They don’t take care of themselves or their environment.

The south might have more trash, but don’t think for a second it doesn’t exist in New England, the midwest, and certainly the west coast.

This.

100% this. My family is from Western PA. Believe me when I tell you there are folks up there who would make Southern trash look like the Beverly Hillbillies. But that is also Appalachia so....

Bub, 1620 was a bit before “Victorian England” existed.

about 95% of the land area of most southern states don't have to worry about it

Overwhelmingly pass legislation that they view as bigoted or hateful and pass strict voter ID laws. Besides that there's nothing to dissuade them and no shot at slowing down the locust horde

This is basically the only solution. Or, like OP said, wreck the economies. The republican politicians bringing corporations from elsewhere to these states are also bringing liberals here. With good comes bad and vice versa

People moving in means you live in a desirable location. If no one wants to move there your place sucks.
