I assume it has something to do with magnets? But I don’t think many ships use iron?

I always thought it was tracker beam. At least that makes sense.

When a stream of light hits an object, it tends to move in the direction that the light is. However, some recent research has shown that with the right geometries, small microparticles can move in the opposite direction of the stream of photons.
