We got sushi that night. Took a drive. Went into a plantation home and grabbed a bottle of wine. Walked up onto the levee drinking wine from the bottle. It was a full moon.
I reached in my pocket, pulled out a ring, slid it onto her finger, and said "you're mine".
She dropped the wine and kissed me.
Total alpha move, but I was scared as shite she would bail.

Had been working in NY, & hadn't laid eyes on her in 3 months. Plan was to pick her up at the airport in Buffalo, drive straight to stateside of Niagara Falls, walk over to the river, get down by the water & (already on a knee) say what's this, pull the ring out of the water...and ask her.

this is why I "proposed" while we were laying on the sofa watching TV.
I gave her the ring while we were in my horse's stall. She was pestering me about it so I just took a knee and popped the question and gave her the ring. She knew I had it, just didnt know I had it on me.
She should have seen that as a precursor to what a true romantic I am.
