I lurked since year Saints made Super Bowl. Mostly rant and saints talk, not much on OT until last few years. People made threads about psychedelic mushrooms and always gave poor information. I finally made an account and made my topic regarding that, hence my screen name

Funny you ask, I just had admin change mine because it was my first two initials and last name. I like running, I'm a Dad, and was born in 85'. Easy enough.

When I was a kid, one of my favorite cartoon/comic book series was "BlackHawk" - which had a Chinese character Chop-Chop that I related to.
That led me to notice Terry and the Pirates who had the "Chinese Bandits" as the meanest people on earth - and I liked to use that name in conversation and play-time.
Then at LSU - (1956-1960) when Deitzel first named the 3 teams in response to the new substation rules, I immediately fell in love with the name Chinese Bandits. Plus in those days, defense was my favorite phase of the game.
We played Clemson in the 1959 Sugar Bowl and their coach Frank Howard bragged = "Just wait til they put in their 3rd string - we'll score all we want" (or words to that effect) - They didn't score against anyone, especially the Chinese Bandits.
Continued to love that name all my life.

Years and years ago I attended Troy State. Sometime when I was finishing up Undergrad or maybe when I was in grad school, they announced they were dropping State from the name, and would be known as Troy University. I was working as a grad assistant at the time, and was in the media and communications office a good bit. There was a big branding push, and they wanted to get away from TSU, and wanted to be known as TROY, not TU. I was active on a TSU message board at the time, and being a little rebellious at the time, registered TU Rob as my handle. A few years later when we were scheduled to play LSU, I found this board and registered the same name since it was easy to remember. I was one of the last few classes to graduate with Troy State University on my diploma, I think the next school year they officially shifted to Troy University.
