You’re absolutely correct. It was his father, though being the Trinity it was kind of Him.

Stop thinking on a scale that makes sense.

Where did it come from?

A higher dimensional being got bored.

Call it God. Call it whatever.

Time has no beginning or end.

Well there is growing social sentiment to this opinion. And it's translating even more at the higher institutional level in regards to funding. Slowly the fascination with origins of the universe and life at the microbiological level is declining, simply because there isn't any money in it in terms of economical advantages. Where funding is being primarily directed is not the past, but the future, lead by the Transhumanist (or Technohumanist) movement surrounding academia.

I’ve always laughed at the people who believe that god created everything...who created god? Was he the Big Bang...coming from nothing? We could go round and round. There are multiple universes (multi-verse) not just ours.

There wasn’t really a bang.

It was more like an extremely rapid expansion.

The hardest point to grasp is that the expansion didn’t grow to fill space, it created space as it expanded. Everything was created as it expanded.

I've been agnostic most of my adult life. But I've seen religion help people in extremely dire emotional straits when literally nothing else worked. Maybe it's not for everybody. Maybe it's not for me. But I'll never disparage someone who believes.

Well, that's kind of the point. If something created God, God wouldn't be God anymore. Whatever created God would have the superior claim. Theists (at least the serious ones) don't try and pretend to have an answer to this question. It's clearly beyond our understanding, like many other things. It's summed up in the philosophical and metaphysical concept of "I am who I am."

Is this your drop the mic moment? Where did these other universes come from?

A Catholic priest was also involved in the formation of this philosophical doctrine Teilhard de Chardin

How do you know that? Could there have been a smallish bang? A big pop?

When did the non-bang happen? How old was God at that time? Are there other civilizations?

I'm not familiar with him, so I'll have to look into it.

Not a Catholic, but deeply indebted to Antonin Sertillanges and his work.

Gee, thanks for your amazing contribution to the thread.

Why post anything at all, or even click on the thread? Miserable little shite.
