Nope. Was onto fake moon landings long before I started reading Q stuff. I've given up neither.

About as long as your mom waited for you to finally admit you're a fig.

I'm asserting that they couldn't just point a satellite dish at the moon and get a signal from 220,000 miles away in 1969.

Not only could they easily do that in 1969, in the 1950s they were transmitting signals from earth using the moon as a passive reflector bouncing them back to earth. This enabled using frequencies that were previously used for “line of site sight” communications to communicate with opposites sides of the earth. Compared to that sending a signal from the moon to the earth was a piece of cake.

“On July 24, 1954, the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) at Stump Neck, Maryland (now the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Indian Head, Maryland) sent and received the first human voice transmission to be bounced back to Earth from the Moon.”

Gotta love the true believer who lacks the faith in his own knowledge to share with others. Or this is just a garden variety troll job.

Either way, it’s tiresome.

News like this does not help their credibility these days.

I think that the OP and several other posts in this thread are actually the natural progression of trend that the O-T Lounge has been travelling in for quite some time.

NASA never had the capability to send a live human past the radiation of the Van Allen Belt.

Radiation exposure is a function of time distance and shielding, the Apollo capsule had a aluminum skin f a thickness that engineers believed would be adequate combined with the short amount of time it would tKe to pass through the belts. The belts have regions of minimal charged particles, and NASA used s minimum exposure trajectory that would take the spacecraft through areas of minimum radiation. Being a medical physicist that has worked in radiation therapy I have calculated the likely whole body dose the astronauts received during the lunar missions based on known data about the Van Allen belts just as NASA did, it was not much greater than occupational limits set for workers at nuclear facilities.

I mean it’s been known for decades that the ISS is in low Earth orbit? And technically no country has sent someone to “space” since the Apollo missions?

But who frickin cares? We just launched the James Webb telescope. The New Horizons probe passed Pluto and is approaching another object which will be the furthest thing out we’ve observed. We have probes on Mars. We have a probe that is returning samples from a comet. You know….real science stuff. So why do we need a human in outer space again?

Agreed! I have interacted with Health Physicist professionals, often and it is all about the dose. The exposures can be mitigated to acceptable levels.

It's the asteroids and stuff that'll git cha.

1861 is a FBI plant. They have been caught so many times trying to infiltrate and provoke dangerous discourse that they needed a new approach to out wit the red necks. Coming from outer space, they will start picking up farmers and oyster fisherman, processing them through the new secret facility at Quantanomo Bay giving them vivid memories of anal contact with Comey and Shiff. This will cause a new pandemic causing a stockout of vasoline and rubbers. The supply chain meltdown will cause immense red state grief.

The header of the OP matches the content inside the thread.

No games being played.

I was curious where a board full of pretty common folk is with there awareness of certain things.

I’m not here to change anyone’s mind as a primary or even secondary goal. I’m here to understand better where we’re at on various concepts. More to come.
