Yea, we couldnt possibly just renovate the huge area theyve already destroyed. We have to bring them into a functioning area so we can all eventually suffer.

They built a rental neighborhood full of 1,000 sq ft 30 day construction shite boxes next door to Clear Lake subdivision on Harrells Ferry Road last year. The average home in Clear Lake is $500,000 and they connected a dead-end street from Clear Lake into this neighborhood.

Without opening this report and perusing it, I'm going to assume that's annually... $400.00 a month seems reasonable, but again, I didn't look at the report.

Right, you can't tell the truth about things so what's the point in discussing it.

By sending all the wild natives to....America? El Salvador fixed all their problems by opening his prisons and sent them here.

Spot on. Total failure of the “families” raising these criminals and the churches in these neighborhoods that are more focused on political action to supposedly help with their problems and the money they get from doing so rather than reaching out and ministering to the hearts and minds of these kids to prove to them there is a better way out.

Build a loop around it so everybody can bypass the city, and let it die.

Same as everywhere else: It starts at home. Massively incentivize nuclear families and marriage, and severely cut the incentives we currently have for single mother households.

We are doing the exact opposite.

All the rest of the shite mentioned is just throwing more government at the problem. So many of yall have got to get rid of that boomer mindset. The government will not fix the most sacred government of them all - the family.

Judicial reforms at the legislature to reduce judge’s discretion on setting low/no bails for violent crime.

Police start arresting way more violent and property criminals.

Huge reform at permitting office so that businesses can get every permit they need in one shot, quickly, with full transparency. Permitting delays absolutely throttle upstart businesses.

Massively change commercial zoning to reduce or eliminate parking minimums.

Reduce the amount of single family home zoning.

Return to true neighborhood schools with actual discipline and consequences for unruly students. No students pass the 4th grade unless they can read. For students who are already past that who cannot read, they’re sent to an alternative school that focuses exclusively on literacy until they can read and write at grade level. Then they can return to their old school.

Massive infrastructure plan to connect surface streets to increase redundancy.

5 lane highway 30 from downtown to wherever the plaquemine bridge could go.

4 or 5 lane perkins to highland.

Completely redesign the entire highland/perkins/i-10 interchange kerfuffle.

Eliminate open container laws.

Cease all “traps” for enforcing window tint, seatbelts, inspection stickers, speeding under 10 mph, etc. Those are only levied when already pulled over for something more serious.

Divert ticket revenue and receipts from seized property auctions from police departments revenues to road fund. All police funding should come from dedicated millages.

Fire CATS and subcontract out mass transit services to Tiger Trails or to a private bus service.

Audit BREC, Council on Aging, and the libraries. Explore reducing dedicated millages.

Re-consolidate DPW so roads, drainage, drinking water, utilities, and sewer all talk to each other.

Create councils of volunteer organizations to meet monthly to discuss collaboration with the government on specific issues. For example, have representatives from BREC sit down with the various athletic clubs. Have DPW sit down with organizations like keep tiger town beautiful to discuss cleaning up litter or with the kayakers to discuss cleaning out bayous.

Consolidate BRPD into EBR Sheriff.

Explore expanding BRFD to the entire parish and absorbing St. George FD.

That should be a good start.

Raise prices on every thing and force the poors out. Sounds messed up but that’s the only way. Just keep raising prices on everything you can. Tax the shite out of everything.

Property tax, sales tax, toll roads, housing prices, food prices. Just run it all up.

Strong leadership in both the public and private sectors. Also, recognize that poor talent retention is a crisis. It always starts with people.

Better street / highway and interstate lighting. Need BRIGHT WHITE lamps that work! Half of these antiquated, cheap Amber lights never work. Anyone walked LSU’s campus at night?

Take back the neighborhoods with a strong police presence. There's a segment that wants to defund the police, but that's not working. And there needs to be consequences. Lenient judges only add to the problem. The police and victims of crime will tell you the same people commit multiple.crimes.

Wild idea I had just today looking at trash on the side of the road. People have to have pride in where they live and how they live. You have to make the community somewhat responsible for its citizens behavior. This, in an entire community (school district, neighborhood, or some other way of grouping them) if the streets are trashy and the crime rate is high, reduce benefits, raise taxes, or find other “sticks” to force the community to essentially police themselves. Maybe they will pick up trash. Maybe they will shun lawbreakers and shame them. Maybe…

Tough love is needed.
