Can't get on page to build one? The new one being built presently in Mobile only going to hold close to 11,000. And the only thing I hear it is being built for is mardi gras balls and maybe a minor league ice hockey team.

New Orleans needs one for the pelicans and smaller concerts
Baton Rouge, need one for the LSU basketball team and other sports

Is louisiana politicians that more corrupt than alabama? At least Louisiana has a lottery and sport betting We can't do that here because the Creek Indians in alabama won't let it happen and politicians are getting money under the table from other states, so a lottery won't pass.

This is all I got.

What is crazy... The eastern shore..( Daphne, Spainsh ft, fairhope)It's not included in the metro population.

I don't understand.. Is it the north shore included in new orleans metro?

Mobile's media market population is 1.3 million that includes pensacola area and parts of mississippi

New Orleans has the Super Dome and the Arena... what the hell do you want? There's no empty space downtown for a new Super Dome.

Why should Baton Rouge build an arena for LSU?
LSU can build their own arena if they want one.

There is a fine line between success and failure. Alabama is, at least, a little better run than Louisiana and a little less (maybe more than a little less) corrupt.

Maybe the explanation is as easy as that.

New Orleans has about a million problems, but needing another arena isn't one of them.

Politicians.

Louisiana has the most corrupt politics in the country, hands down.

The pelicans do not need a new arena. There is absolutely nothing wrong with smoothie king.

LSU is building one. Final plans should be submitted to the LSU BOS soon (per a recent article). It will likely be on the existing LSU golf course across the street from Alex Box. LINK

EBR and LSU reached an agreement that is essentially a non-compete that said that the new LSU arena would be used for concerts and events.

This is from a year old article.
quote:

Officials said the proposed LSU arena will host sporting events and music and entertainment for the Baton Rouge area, while the River Center will look to increase convention space and add a hotel to the complex. The new LSU arena part of the proposal is being developed by the Tiger Athletic Foundation.

The proposed ordinance also limits the River Center Arena to sports and entertainment events under 3,500 attendees, and professional sports events under 8,500 attendees.
