You'd have to figure out a way to block sites like TD from any searches done by industries.
I mean, don't get me wrong. I love this place, but it's not exactly a demonstration of good, reasonable, educated, even minded humanity.

Only answer and has been for decades:
Infrastructure.
I heard this same from a Fortune 500 multi-millionaire

If you think it's bad and hopeless now just wait until Mississippi rolls back their corporate taxes.
And their state income taxes are eliminated. Will be an enormous coup for Miss as it will be the fastest growing state within 20 years

So, it’s TigerDroppings that’s doing it to Louisiana?
Is that an educated guess to what fuels decision makers in business and industry these days?

That’s the correct answer.
It’s like going on a sales call to sell your company to a potential client who’s looking at many competitors also vying for their business but you have nothing but a smile in your presentation.

Non corrupt government to attract new, innovative businesses
That keeps the educated populace from leaving

I’ll never forget some years back we had an opportunity to invest in a large regional airport that focused on shipping, only to get squashed by people who objected to moving forward in true Louisiana fashion. This could have potentially provided many many more businesses, employment, and revenue to the area, but we would have nothing of it.

Stop paying dumb fks to breed, that would solve most of it.

There’s no one answer to your question you simp. And certainly nothing that can be done immediately.

The Hollywood south thing ended when Louisiana gave up their tax credit system. Lawmakers seriously thought they could drop the system and that filmmakers would still make films here, as if they “had to” (while there was an outflow from state coffers; these people were using local equipment guys, local studios, catering local,etc.... for a state net gain)
The next time this comes up, I’ll go to the capital and point out that if a movie is set in New York, it really doesn’t have to be filmed in Baton Rouge.

1. Better, less complicated state/local taxes
2. Less complicated/burdensome business regulations and permitting process
3. Better educated workforce
4. More relaxed drug testing policies or less drug use by citizens
5. Less violent and property crime, especially shoplifting
6. Better highway infrastructure
7. Legalized recreational marijuana, sports betting, prostitution, and more on-land new orleans casino gambling
Louisiana cannot compete because Texas has all but one of those things plus a much larger population, and it’s right next door.

Louisiana should change its name to Texas. Seriously as long as the residents are voting in Edwards and Broome we are screwed.

Why do we need to subsidize Hollywood studios and films? It was a good gimmick at the time but should have lasted only a few years.
IBM in Baton Rouge is probably the best thing we’ve had as far as government giveaways. At least that kept or brought a few smart people the the state.
Louisiana is mainly a tourist state with little industry outside of timber, o&g, and chemical plants.
Personally, I think we should try to get a couple of call centers. These jobs don’t have to go overseas. We should also start a large project to rebuild are coastline. Why this dumbass democrat governor hasn’t attracted ecological dollars to our coast is a disgrace. I mean he can’t even bring any left thinking business or special interests to this state. What the hell is he worth? He’s a waste.

Amazon almost put there headquarters in Louisiana until they read the Soccer Board. It killed the entire relocation effort.

Look at the states that are attracting businesses and follow their model. Taxes and restrictions are the main issue.
