How big are car ports and garages on new cookie cutter homes?

Built new in 2013. My garage fits my 4 Runner, her Optima, a dorm fridge on one side, a Yeti on my side, and room to open any door on either side of either car. Very pleased.

I hate our garage. Right at the front of the house and barely fits our two vehicles. My husbands truck has to nearly touch the wall to be able to close the garage. He had to test drive it home just to make sure it would fit before he bought it. As you can expect, he has hit the wall more than once trying to get close enough so that has to be repaired before we ever sell. More than anything I hate how garages in cookie cutter neighborhoods are all you see. Who thought this was a great idea? It is just a neighborhood full of garages and people live in little houses hidden behind them.

I fit an Accord, minivan, 2 work desks, 1 mobile work bench, a jointer, 5 bicycles, a bike trailer, jogging stroller, and a stack of raw lumber in mine with room to spare for other random tools and such and still have plenty of room to walk around.
I'll take my 80s ranch style over the newer cookie cutter type houses every day.
