NOLA is within 50 miles. Will you be at the Bayou Blue base? People have lived in NOLA and worked out of that base.

I am still holding out hope to land in drilling with HB or Weatherford or even SLB/Pathfinder if something opens up. HB is taking their sweet time getting my 2nd interview scheduled.

I like living in downtown Houma, but I'm easily amused. Give me some 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons, a few bars in walking distance, I'm good.

I've heard the downtown area is gentrifying a bit. I just turned down a transfer so maybe it is time for me to purchase.

The houses right off park are very nice. I know a few people that live there. They seem to like it.

The neighborhood by the Oaklawn/annunziata church area is far from being a shite hole. I mean it's not like the rich neighborhoods on the west side but the east side being horrible is greatly exagge

I lived on Paris lane for awhile like 18 years ago, it was all just families back then. We would walk to the church for the dances.

Depends on your age and where you're at in your life. If you're bringing a family down there, you'll enjoy it and your kids will enjoy being raised there (they'll want to leave by the time college hits though if they're raised there from a young age). It's also safe and has good private schools.

It's also pretty damn fun for someone in their early-mid 20s. Nicholls makes the the nightlife pretty fun for that age range plus you have the bigger cities within an hour or so to go party in whenever you want.

If your single and past your mid 20s, that area starts to suck big time! Even more so if you are moving there without knowing anyone. It's mostly a college nightlife scene (Thibodaux more than houma), so once you pass the age where you the oldest person in all of the bars every weekend, it starts to suck. Sure you can take off on the weekends to Nola, BR, Lafayette or wherever, but traveling out there every weekend just to go out becomes old quickly.

Yeah when I was younger I'd walk and ride my bike everywhere on the east side. Never ran into trouble either

I've got this store running pretty well right now and I think I have more earning potential here. Told them to offer me more to forego that. I'm sure they'll exhaust other candidates before going to that.

Yea, they're taking a hit. You always do the while everyone is checking it out. Once that is over you see where you really are. They did fine with Tilted Kilt. If TP continues their usual ways they'll be ok at some point.

I was at TP Houma Holloween day and they were fantastic.

TP Houma is legit. If anyone is ever in the area you will not be disappointed.

Houma sure is a dirty town. I haven't seen much outside of downtown and the MLK Blvd. area though, but it seems like a "not so happening" place.
