re: How Bad Do You Really Want Pot Made Legal?

I just don't want to smell that shite every where I go.
I live in a legal state and I rarely smell it out and about. Or at least no more than when it was illegal. Your example was a concert at Red Rocks. They've been smoking that place out for decades. That's not a result of legalization.

Totally agree but where do we stop? If a study comes out that says Cocaine can help with something do we start selling that too? I totally get what your saying but releasing pot medically will quickly turn to recreationally. I think that is pretty easy to see.
I'm fine with all drugs being legal.
I'm a libertarian. If someone wants to consume cocaine, who am I to play big brother?

i was going to Astoria and south to Cannon beach and to our rental in Oceanside and back to Portland on Thursday.

Cocaine is used by some ENT surgeons for nasal procedures.

Going to take the 101 ...in no hurry as check in is at 4pm in Oceanside. What bridge are y'all referring to as a pain in the arse...the one in Portland on I-5 just north of PDX?

Yeah, you don't want to hit Portland at 8:30am or 9am. But if you're taking 101 you should be ok leaving at 6am. You'll be doing the reverse commute out of Seattle and shouldn't have too much trouble.
eta- and just to clarify, you're exiting I5 in Olympia, not hopping over to the 101 from Portland?

big pharma and corporate marketing are going to commercialize the product
once its legal they can do whatever they feel like
its a plant, it can grow anywhere with little trouble and just like everyone plants tomatoes in their back yard, people who smoke weed will plant their own in their back yards.
why the hell would anyone pay for something they can get free just by adding a little water to a plant every day?
THAT is the "real" reason its still illegal, they cant monopolize the supply and get rich off of it since they cant keep millions of people from growing it for free.
now they will still be able to make money for pill form and oil extract drugs made from it for those who dont want to smoke it so they will make some money selling a "pharmaceutical" grade supply of it

Nah, man. That's a cool trip. Starts off a little boring but gets much better once you hit the coast, especially after you cross into Oregon.
Touristy things:
Kurt Cobain house, not much to it, and a little out of the way, just throwing it out there in case you're into it.
Tillamook Cheese factory- tourist trap, but maybe you really like cheese.
Goonies house in Astoria. Owners a dick but you can still see it.
And brace for crowds in Cannon Beach

Makes no difference to me, I don’t smoke the shite.

Seems fine in CO. Certains places in CO are medical only, it's not entire state.
Even with the taxes, it's still cheaper than it has been in my life time.

People still go to the grocery to buy vegetables.

Like I stated above. I just got back from Colorado to see a concert and 90% of the people there were firing up like crazy. And everyone of them drove home after. My wife and I were laughing our arse off at how many times some of the people around us were firing up.
Plus we visited the Dillan Reservoir area that morning and two guys were blazing up at the bus stop at 9:00 in he morning waiting for a bus. Probably to work
You sound like a dumbass. You get a DUI in CO if it's in reach of the driver. Of all substances people could be on to be a distracted driver, weed is my least concern.

They have great cheese curds. You can only get them there and they have great ice cream.

Drive south to Manzanita. About 2 miles before there is an amazing view point of the town and beach. It's an elevated view. 101 drops down after.
It's a cool place to getaway from folks. At least you're in CB and not Seaside. World of difference.
If you have time and want to see the best view on the Oregon coast check out Saddle Mountain. It's a 5 mile roundtrip hike. If it's cloudy it'll just be a nice hike with little view.

With some realizations that big pharma and corporate marketing are going to commercialize the product and change the use and impact of weed as we know it...
Would it be better if there was a situation where it was still illegal but not enforced?
once it's legal I'll grow my own supply and won't have to worry about any externalities.

It's legal here and I don't see any increased use on the street at all. In fact, except for the pot shops you can't tell a difference

I don’t disagree with you. Both are terrible for you.
But I am not a smoker and I don’t want to smell that shite all the time. Lol
It’s not about health. I could give a shite what your vise is. As long as it does not inconvenience me.
Smokers are already bad enough with cigarettes.
ah, so you want to limit the rights of others because you are slightly inconvenienced. you must be on the far left?

you should fight for all rights that make us a freer society, not just those that impact you. what if non gun owners held the same sentiments?
