How accurate is KBB "fair market range" in it's price model?

I'm looking to buy a new truck. I've added all the options, etc and it's given me the pricing model "Fair Market Range" of $39,270 - $43,991. Is this pretty accurate from a negotiation standpoint with a dealership? Should i expect to be able to get a much better deal than this?
My current negotiations have got it down to $40,850 from a starting point of about $48,000 and an MSRP of $51855.
I've been using the willcover method of being silent and walking away which is working quite well. Just wondering how much lower i can reasonable squeeze out of this before adding "if i purchase today, will you throw in free rubber mats, etc"

I think NADA may be more accurate.

So the will cover method is working but you have no truck to show for it?

Yeah, I’m not spending days haggling and agonizing over a truck. And I’m not even OT rich.
As far as KBB, I’m not sure

Unless you get 15k off it isn’t a good deal

You probably have them thrown off their game with the new and fresh tactics. That “if I buy today line” is a game changer.
Frick all that noise

Should've bought your Silverado before NY. Find a previous year New truck and would be way less (end of year, of course, too late).

I got a 2019 Sierra at the end of October for 37% off MSRP before trade took it down further and before TTL & extended warranty brought it back up.
They ended up beating the Costco pricing but of course, YMMV.

If you pay more than invoice price you've paid too much.

Yeah what’s the invoice price on a Dodge Ram 1500 v8 4x2 Laramie?

Edmonds has the invoice price at about 45k. Again not sure how accurate that is

Find a dealership that will sell based off of invoice price. I bought a Chevy truck three years ago. I ordered it to be built because I wanted certain packages/options. Shopped it around. It was an apples to apples comparison since the truck was going to be ordered.
Most dealers worked off of MSRP. They laughed at me about working off invoice price. Found two dealers, one in BR and one in New Orleans that would start at invoice price. The one I bought it from actually went $500 below invoice. They said they sold on volume so didnt have to make as much per car.
There may be better ways of doing it and I am no expert. Just describing what I did. I knew I got a lot better price than any of the dealers that dropped off of MSRP, because they never came close to the invoice price. Did the same thing with me previous truck. Good luck

Have the dealer show you their invoice, and start negotiating there.

I feel like a lot of these sites are paid by the dealerships and the numbers are unreliable.

All of those guides favor the dealer.
