Beautiful, isn't it? But there's a catch.

Brazilians quibble over whether there are five venomous golden lancehead snakes per square meter on Ilha da Queimada Grande or just one. Either way, it's the highest density of snakes on the planet—far too many to make the island, located around 90 miles off the São Paulo coast, safe for anyone except experts to visit.

No, Mental Floss is legit. I get their magazine. Its full of interesting things like this, and puzzles to keep the mind sharp.

One of the facts from the video says if you get bit, you have a max of 6 hours. But you are just as likely to die in an hour. Microevolution has caused these snakes to become the deadliest in the world.

Some of the pics look like the Lava short before Inside Out.

What are the snakes eating?

An island overrun with snakes is also overrun with rodents.

Interdastingly intrigueularly reprehensibilitating!

It certainly doesn't look like a snake from the air.

The Wehrmacht is soon to claim it as sovereign territory.

Hedonism II, reportedly gets overrun by lots of local snakes with turtlenecks on.

Even without the snakes, it's not very habitable. Mostly, or almost entirely rocky.
