Get your popcorn ready..

Here's the letter:

School is an HISD school that is 55% Hispanic and 43% black.
I have no problem with any of these dress code rules, but I imagine the locals ain't gonna be too happy. Although I'm unsure who they can accuse of being "racist", as the principal is a black lady.

Parents received a letter from the school earlier this month about what they will not be allowed to wear when they are on campus. The dress code prohibits satin caps, shower caps, pajamas, revealing clothing, sagging pants, among other things.

The Principal speaks the truth. But, some parents will be angry.

The irony is people arguing it is racist are themselves applying stereotypes to people to back their argument that these rules apply to specific group of people.

Nothing like a 300lb mom wearing only pajama bottoms, a sports bra, and house slippers rolling up to a school to beat up a teacher because her baby was suspended.

Lets be real, the people that would wear this to their kids school are not the parents that would ever visit their kids school

Nah. They will come to school only to scream at a teacher or a principal because their baby didn't do nothing to justify the punishment / poor grade / etc

I remember some kid's mom wearing satin pants when I was in high school.
That kid got made fun of for having a hot mom

I'm the board chair of a charter school in Memphis, this is exactly the type of parent who shows up to appeal their kid's expulsion from school

I must be missing what an actual "satin cap" is. I'm thinking...

I honestly didn't know a school had the power to determine what their parents wear inside of the school. I have never in my life heard of a dress code for parents. But after reading through the letter, I must admit, I like the sound of this and agree with where the principal is coming from.
Parents should serve as good role models for their children. This is 1 small step in that direction.

It’s a good first step. The second step is all students must be legitimate. And the final step is divorce is not an option.

Exactly because there goes the free babysitting. You take away a free benefit and the shite comes out of the woodwork.
