Not the biggest fan of the guy TBH. His actions around the proposed mixed housing development in the galleria area were classic chicken shite Turner. Have always been on the opportunistic side. Though his dealing with the firefighters was surprising (in a good way) not so much.

Probably not many voters but who knows what difference this could make in a tight race. Paying your side piece with public money isn’t going to win you many friends for sure.

In all honesty probably bc there’s not much to the story, and it’s probably not his “side piece.” The *real* story is probably more boring. Sly prob wanted to hire the dude and created a spot for him and now it seems weird.
But who knows. If he was dumb enough to do something *really* stupid then he deserves the fallout IMO.

Creating an “intern” position for someone paying nearly $100K and has the option to become permanent in two years goes well and above “created a spot for him.”
There were a lot better ways to sneak him onto the payroll that don’t obligate the city to pay that kind of money.
