A couple of decades ago TPTB decided that Westheimer needed additional lanes, so they repainted the road, and made two additional lanes , one each way, and all the lanes were skinnier.

Sounds like Braeswood/Braesheights/Meyerland. Those vacant houses are ones that flooded during Harvey and were either foreclosed or still awaiting govt grants to raise the property 7 ft above flood plain. Lots of bayous run thru the are. Meyerland has legit ghetto apartments spotted around but the braeswood areas are mostly middle to upper middle class.

Heights midtown Washington we’re all fun. I even went to an all black strip club by accident and didn’t really feel like I was gonna get shot. People on here are dweebs. With that said I would not love to live in Houston personally

You should look into going Oschner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Covington. It has in the last year become an MD Anderson affiliate.
Years ago, my sister had a brain tumor. My father had made his regular trip from Chopique to MD Anderson in Houston after work. He came out one of his many days over there to find his hood had been pried open and both batteries stolen out of his diesel pickup. Who does that anyway, but who does it in a hospital parking lot.
Houston is a complete “scheise hole”

I fricking hate Houston as a true North Texan, but I won't let it be slandered.
I think some of the folks from Nola can undersmell what I mean when I say you cannot go to the 3rd largest city in the United States of America and not expect ghetto shite to be prevalent - welcome to America...
Don't bring small town thinking to a big City...
