As much as I love windows/natural light, I'd probably close it in if I had something like that in my bathroom.
I am the same way, I love natural light, but the bathroom is the only room it doesn't matter if I have one or not.
I was talking to someone this weekend who told me they decided to not put a window in their bedroom when they built. It looks like there is a window from the outside because they put closed shutters up.. But I couldn't imagine having no window in the bedroom.
That person worked shift work when they built the house, but is now retired.. So I sort of understand not wanting the window so it would be dark in there, when you have to sleep during the day, but I think I would have found a temporary solution for the sunlight..
I know this is pointless, but you made me think about it when you said you like natural light.

if you dont have an operable window, you need one hell of a exhaust fan. Not just for odors, but to evac moisture.

Do people normally leave the window open in your house?

Agree. Opening the window in South LA would probably let in more moisture than what would go out.

Are you redoing your maid's house?
I finally decided to give your mom a decent place to use the bathroom.

What's the exterior finish on that wall?
Something similar to this.

Don't close off your window. You might need extra ventilation at some point. Also, natural light is nice. I have a big bathroom with a small window and it makes it dark.

Agree with this. Bathroom for the kids doesn't have a window and I wish we had put something in just for some natural light to make it brighter.

That is a good point.

We have a window in 3 of our 4 bathrooms. The only one that does not is a powder.

You call that decent? You should have splurged for the double wide.

For your mom, it's decent and she isn't worth a double-wide.

if you are covering the window in order to put in a shower, then do it right and remove the window, insulate, and cover the outside with matching materials, dont "rig it" with a shutter or just close it in from the inside.
if you are not putting in a shower, then just leave the window, it lets light in to save on lighting bills and can let extra fresh air in as needed.
easy tip to frosting windows is clean them really good, then put clear self stick shelf paper on them. if the window is clean you cant tell its not real frosted glass

You’re going to need to put some cement board down before the marble goes in.
And where does the bidet go? I couldn’t live like that.

Your jokes are getting predictable and less creative by the second.
