What is the going rate to hire a DJ for a reception?
In b4 $3.50
In b4 trashy, hire a live band (this is a short two hour event that just needs some music)
DJ not BJ you pervs

If all you need is music, just make a playlist or turn on Spotify and plug it into some speakers.
Don't get fancy. He can just sign up for the free month trial and cancel it after the event. Save that $1.99 for a rainy day.

BRPD has a bunch of CDs they can get rid of now, you ought to just save yourself some money and go raid the evidence locker

Probably something like $400-$600 for 4 hours. DJs don’t just play music. They play the music you/guests request and also do introductions and what not. Pay the man.

Why don't you contact some local DJ's and ask them? I'm pretty sure they can give you a much more accurate price.

It can’t be that much.
I know the bands that play in the back bar at L’auberge only get like $300 bucks (total) for 3-4 hours.
