The want to be a hero? Being a badass on Call of Duty? Way to much risk and very little reward for situations like this. It's Louisiana in July. Turn the power off. They'll come out eventually.
Golden rule number one: never force yourself into a situation you "can't control". I surely hope the news was wrong.

Nyjal was wanted at the time by the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office for attempted first degree murder in a drive-by shooting. Court records also show he was arrested in Lafayette Parish in July 2023 for numerous charges including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The judge needs to be outed and held to account big-time.

Soooo, living in a trailer but driving an Escalade. Wonder what line of work he was into?

Where was the Iberia Parish Sheriffs' Office?

It was a LPD officer.
I saw at least 5 police cars running down 90 around 4:30 today. Knew something bad was happening when I saw a Lafayette PD unit in Iberia Parish.

He had hostages, including a juvenile. If he was alone they’d probably just sit outside all day and wait him out, but innocent people typically require a more rapid intervention.

That’s a one way ticket back to prison, especially when combined with other crimes. Really curious why he was walking free only a year later.

This is almost always the freaking case and I can't stand it.
I try not to be political on here, but I'll vote for anyone who is tough on violent offenders. So tired of seeing killers typically having a lengthy history of violence.
They had another guy who attempted murder by shooting a guy in the chest they let out for a while and he went and killed like 3 other people. This stuff should never happen.
In Tennessee they had a guy who nearly beat his gf (ex-gf) to death. They were on vacation or something from Mississippi. Her family warned the judge if they let him out soon enough he would kill her. They ended up letting him out with a tracking device that failed. He went all the way to Mississippi and killed her the moment he was released.
I have zero patience for any violent offenders. I don't care what other offences someone has, but violent offenders should not be let out.

Bail is just to ensure he appears at court. You're not convicted yet. That's not how our system works.

After seeing what appeared as 2 white people being escorted away from the trailer, I was a little hesitant to call it....but I did!
I said to myself, " the killer is a black dude!" and lo and behold!

That case likely is still open. If a Defendant wants they can drag out a felony case for easily over a year.
Most parishes had a huge glut of felonies waiting for trial before Covid, and then we basically stopped jury trials for 12-18 months AND then had the post-Covid crime increase.
Lafayette likely has much more important crimes to take to trial before a felon in possession case.

no stuff nostradamus
should not this jackal with a lengthy violent history and weapons charges be held without bail
like others have mentioned, we are sick and fuggin tired of these violent muthafreekas being allowed to dwell among us
we need a modern day star chamber…

How do we find the entire criminal history of this piece of shite?

He has four kids too, just to make the situation much worse.

The end result of this suggests that the case might have been more important than they thought.
