Well a CFR between .1% and .3% is 5-15x higher than the seasonal flu

Yeah, no. The CFR for an average flu season is .1%.

On average, seasonal flu strains kill about 0.1 percent of people who become infected.

You seem to be using the mortality rate, which is deaths divided by population total.

Just in case anyone was wondering. They ended up not discharging her. Yesterday, just about all of her symptoms became worse. She is still alive but going (slowly) in the wrong direction. She does not need a ventilator yet but is beginning to have shortness of breath.

thank you all for your prayers

Honest question

Does your family have the ability to pay these medical bills?

It would be better to not have insurance now that the gubment is going to pay for Covid treatment for the uninsured.

Man, praying that she turns the corner soon. Does anyone have any idea how long it typically takes the disease to run its course?

Are you referring to Mahdragonz or Covid-19?

14 days in most cases but if she is as sick as she sounds it seems like she will be there a bit longer. She will need rehab to get her walking, temp without tylenol x 24 hours(con't temp w tylenol is criteria to keep her ). Good luck you did the right thing. Most of these people are not in the healthcare and have no idea.

I hope she recovers.

Don't forget man. If she has Medicare or a medicare hmo, she has appeal rights. If you don't trust the discharge plan given to you. Don't hesitate to use them.

Based on what you were saying, they wanted to discharge your mom yesterday and had they done that, she would've been right back in the hospital. Your suspicions and concerns were correct.

In this day and age, with all the educational resources available. People who blindly trust a hospital or medical staff to always get things right are foolish.

As a layman, your doubts were not only reasonable, they were correct.
