My wife spent 6 weeks in the hospital during December and January and the food is just okay, nothing special.

Lakewood Hospital in Morgan City, now Teche Regional had the best gumbo. I would actually go and eat it in cafeteria without knowing or visiting anyone in the hospital. A guy I met offshore told me about it and it was amazing. Many years ago though.

Are you an MD?

I lost between 40-60 pounds when I was in the hospital over a two week period. They were entirely justified with stuffing my face. Now though, yes, I've more than gained it all back. Ugh.

Yes. There is one of the island right next to me. I know a few folks from BR that are there too.
We actually watched a few of the LSU games at the resort casino over there last season
IDK how yall do it. I thought St. Maarten in the off season was bad enough, but I sat next to some Ross students on the plane home for xmas and there stories made me glad to be on St. Maarten. IDK what island your school is on but IDK how yall deal with it.

they deal with it because its usually the only path to that profession. the vets students go there because they couldnt get into the vet schools in the states

St. Maarten is an island paradise compared to the place I'm on. No one believes me but it truly is. I'm on Nevis and the only thing nice here is the Four Seasons.
But like jones said, I'm only here because I was having trouble getting into schools in the states. But it was a good decision in the long run to come down here and isolate myself from all of my friends back home. There's no way I could have done this well in the states with all the distractions.
Perch, thanks man I'm going to bust my arse so I can get into an ER residency. I need about a 230 coming from a Caribbean school. So the pressure will be on when I get back home.

How do you get time to be a doctor when you're fapping to half naked chicks all day?

If St. Maarten is not bad until you need something then everything is on freaking island time.

You don't have to tell me. I am a second semester at AUC on St. Maarten. I am glad I made the decision (even if biochem is kicking my arse). The though of getting waitlisted and going through all that crap made me just say freak it and come on down and I am glad I did.

Right, as in it has been your avatar since you've been over there and you've made it pretty obvious in your posts that you are in med school ... And there's that chasing Alexa thing too ..

My local hospital recently hired a LCI trained chef that was working at a country club beforehand. Food is really good now. Always something worth eating on the menu.

some hospitals are starting to do this. turning there cafeteria into a restaurant, trying to turn a profit.

When working as a nurse on night shift I often thought about starting a food truck business that made hospital rounds at night.
