I won’t even get into the fact that traveling with a 10 week old isn’t any fun, but since you still don’t understand a 10 week old has a very fragile immune system. It’s the height of flu season. Take a wild guess at the degree of pathogen exposure that happens on a 20+ hour flight and international airport exposure. There are diseases in rural China that don’t exist here. Not to mention if the child does get sick they will have to be treated in rural China.
I was hoping none of this needed to be explained but obviously you need help

If you have to stay awhile you should make it your mission to have grandpa and all the family calling each other Baw. Bonus points if he calls grandma Bawette.
Good luck.

I know it’s been said already, but please let us know if there’s anything else we can do other than RTs/connections.
I can’t get the image of your squishy cute little bebe out of my head. Hang in there Honkus family!

i understand your point of view and don't want to keep this pissing match going, but you know there are thousands (millions) of babies born every year in 3rd world countries, with developing immune systems... some of them survive ya know?

Honkus. This is your opportunity. Strike from the inside while they are weak!!
(To all government officials, this is a joke.)

Some is right.
I’m not going to comment on this anymore because it’s not the purpose of this thread. Good luck to you and your family. Y’all will be fine, but it’s scary that you still don’t understand why this was a bad idea.

It's time for Neck to get the truck round to China

Never fails. The OT Scold is here to explain why risk is unacceptable. Invaluable advice from inside the rubber room bunker where all the doily folding and origami happens.

Prayers for you and your family, namebro. Can’t imagine what you’re going through. Stay safe and hope you’re home soon.

I don’t even know what to say Honkus. I feel terrible for y’all. I just hope y’all can make it out of there safe and sound ASAP.

Stay strong, my friend. I was actually thinking of you and your wife the other day because you said y’all go to China every now and then

Hopefully Honkus doesn’t post on here for a little bit. It’s like 1 am in China. Dude needs to get some rest. Might be some very long days ahead.

I just finished reading one of the most up to date books about the spreadS of Ebola. There are some things in there that may be applicable to Honkus.
With wet viruses, the most common points of infection are wet parts of the body, exposed to the air, like eyes, mouths and noses. That's why goggles are worn (maybe you can get ski goggles or safety glasses) as well as filters to breath through. Their universal cleaning agent was bleach. Diluted and sprayed.
The elderly and young were most at risk. Do you have a working thermometer? If one family member sickened, isolation was mandatory.
Their main problems (blood and projectile vomiting and explosive diarrhea) are not your problems and that is a very good thing.
You may already know these things already, but if not...., You do need to know how many folks are hoping that your visit is good and your family will just remember this as an adventure.
