Honda usually packs a little more technology in their vehicles than Toyota.
This is the one area Toyota continues to miss the mark. Their technology way behind most car manufacturers. But they are great for reliability and overall value.

Yep. This is the reason my wife drives a CRV. For the money the interior is nicer with more tech and all-around extras. And she still hasn't learned how to play music right in it.

I like those newer rav 4s. Specifically the adventure package.

Where does Subaru rank on your list. I imagine the Forester or Outback is competition for the RAV4 and the CRV.
Subaru is a sturdy car, but very crude, simple, and cheaply designed infotainment/UI. Their engines are just not as modern as their Japanese or American competitors either.
Their primary advantage is an excellent all wheel drive system and strong reputation for safety.

Neither. Nissan Rogue is it.
I fricking hate my wife's 2013 Rogue. It's rattly, the interior is tiny, the CVT is annoying, and as I mentioned in a previous thread a couple weeks ago, the user interface on the touchscreen is so counterintuitive, you need a manual/youtube video to figure out something as simple as bluetooth. I can't wait to get rid of that piece of shite, but she doesn't mind driving it. As a result, any time the whole family goes some where, it puts more miles on my truck.

Mazda is underrated. CX-5
I'd buy Mazda, Kia, and Hyundai before Toyota and Honda.
One, Honda's using CVTs. They suck.
And Toyota can't make a non-ugly vehicle. I would love to buy them, but I can't buy hideous. Every single one of them.

CR-V best size for a compact suv. Rav is technology lacking and the Rogue is just simply a POS.

I have owned Acura, Honda, Toyota, Nissan . Each one was a great reliable car but besides one Acura pretty boring . I put 400k on a 2001 Highlander and it was still running strong in 2017 when I sold it for $1200 to my mechanic , can you believe that? Either would be good but I’d take the Rav 4 .Prepare to be bored - boring can be good in a car.

I cant stand spending alot money on vehicles so i was looking at models similar to both of these a couple of years ago and went with the Rav 4. My list initially included the Rogue and that was scratched off very quickly as it just failed in every comparison (except cost). I wanted something I could put my bike in fairly easily and the Rav 4 was a better fit. The technology and advancements with the interior was better with the Honda but all I really wanted was a backup camera, cruise control and power doors and windows. It doens't have a power rear gate in the model I got (LE) which I wish it did but I wasn't going to pay a few thousand more just for that option and get a bunch of other stuff I didnt want (power mirrors, sunroof, leather, etc).
So far, 60k miles in about 2 1/2 years...about to replace the tires for the first time and the only issue I had was the accuator for the lock/unlock feature on both front doors went out and had to be replaced but was covered under the 100k warranty I got by purchasing a certified pre-owned. I think the total vehicle cost was like $21,000
The wife is looking to get out of her Infiniti g-35 soon and now wants a small SUV and we will revisit but I think shes going to lean Honda since she doesn't quite need the interior height I do to store my bike.
