If you don't care... just let the authorities plant her in their potter's field.
That $200 belongs to the CC companies, so don't count that towards her final disposition costs.
Does the deceased have any children or loved ones she hasn't managed to alienate?

Well... if you're the only one to handle it and you don't give a hoot.. walk away. She's not your mother, wife or daughter so I doubt you'd be under an absolute obligation to handle it. I'm no lawyer though... but if your conscience allows you, just walk away. Might regret it later, but maybe not.

Details Dead beat daughter sponging off her mother for 20 yrs fell, hit head on table and died 2 mo after mother. Was trying to see if any hope of a few $ to pay for cremation. Only $200 in her bank. $40000+ on credit cards, not worried about credit card companies getting paid
Sorry you have to go through that. I’ve given a lot of thought lately to our (mankind’s) capacity for greatness and our seemingly equal capacity for depravity. At the end of the day, she has to lie in the bed she made. You can only do what you can do.
Best wishes to you. May the mother and daughter rest in peace.

Under that hypo, no payment from Homeowners policy. Seale cremated my stepfather for $1100. Seemed reasonable compared to the $5000 that Resthaven wanted for my mother.

You’re right, but I interpreted the OP as if this is an outside family member temporarily renting a room inside the home. After reading it again, I think I interpret it the way you do now.

You have a savings account, don't you? If it's that important for you to not have the county coroner "handle" what happens at the end, use your money. If it's not that important, donate the body to a research center.

Don't know, she was home alone and found several hours after. Never saw the med report

Altready paid for it. She sponged off mother who I financially backed for years. I guess that small sum was just a burr under my saddle pad

No liability

It's common for a homeowners policy to include $1 million in liability coverage. There is also a small amount for medical payments to others, which could be between $5K-50K. If a person who was injured on your property received medical care before he died, then a claim would be made against this amount.

No; it’s no different than being at fault in an auto accident and making a liability claim against yourself.
