Title Insurance. Don't fall for these other scams.

Home Title Lock is BS. All they are doing is checking the public records occasionally to make sure they don’t see anything recorded. They are doing a great job at advertising bc I’ve been asked about it a good bit.

quote:Sounds like bullshite. So some thieves can pull out fake documents and trick banks but somehow, you the home owner who is obviously to all of this, is on the books for it? Sounds like the banks can kiss my arse if that is the case, as they should do their own due diligence in verifying that everything is legit.
Yea that's what the commercial claims, that you can be subject to eviction from your own home, yet still are responsible for monthly mortgage payments and whatever loans the thief took out on your home's equity. It really sucks

Can I swipe a home out from under you if I purchase the lien on your back taxes?

If they evicted me like this no way I would pay a dime. Default on that shite and go rent a house. Bank takes the house, and at least the a-hole who stole the title would also get evicted.

I’ve noticed that I exclusively hear these commercials on Dave Ramsey and conservative news networks. That’s explains the Newt Greenwich connection.

Criminals are inherently lazy. Going through all the legal gymnastics to usurp someone property deed is too much work. It is easier for them just to write 96 month car notes.

An average person could run to the courthouse (or use online search where applicable) and run his/her name out periodically and get the exact same service these title theft prevention companies provide. Anyone who has dealt with title and title opinions on property over the years knows that it's never 100% ironclad. I've seen title opinions on property with hundreds of flags from that may never even attempt to be cured depending on how nit picky the attorney doing it is.

Some sovereign citizen types have done similar stuff on unoccupied homes in GA. They usually end up in prison.
