Anyone ever try and place an online home depot order? Don't do it. Waited in line 2 hours to pick up a damaged item and waiting in line for close to an hour to return it.

Twice. First time the item never became "ready" and I just went in the store myself to find it. Second time it showed 18 in stock... nope. None. Numbers are wrong all over the place. Even on their own little devices. Basically, workers are stealing them for themselves or selling for cash.

You work for a company that offers a specific service. Do your job, lazy a-hole.

This happened to me a couple years ago. Wanted to buy a grill.

Went to the covington store twice and literally couldn't get help once. The second time I found the grill on the rack and just needed someone to get it down. Guy said he was coming and after 30 minutes I left.

The store in slidell said they had 5 brand new in the box. Cool, except they couldn't find any of them.

I was in retail and was an inventory manager for a couple years. How in the hell do you not know where 5 big arse grills are? We would have issues, but there are ways especially in a very large company to fix inventory without taking shrink.

Home Depot is terrible. Lowe's is far and away better when it comes to customer service. I've posted this before in regards to cell phone stores but it stands true here as well. Visit big box stores in a small town. Opportunity for many is limited and retail type jobs at Lowe's, etc., are highly sought after because they provide a relatively good life that otherwise wouldn't be available for some. They will go above and beyond to maintain those positions.

I haven't been in years. I live in a small town now and have never once paid full price for any item at Lowe's here. 35-40k as a specialist here is good money and they will do whatever it takes to keep their numbers up and maintain their jobs.

I've found both Home Depot and Lowes online ordering clumsy and store pickup time-consuming.
The items are either near the counter and they have real trouble find them or still in stock at the back of the store.
I've tried it about 3 times at each Baton Rouge/Denham Springs store and have since opted for retrieving stuff from the shelves.

I ordered a weber S-330 (subtle brag) online last week, they assembled it and had it ready for me right when I showed up in perfect condition.

I do it all the time.

Never wait long to pick up, I call in advance and tell them I will be there in an hour. If its damaged I bring it back. I have never waited more than 15 minutes in a line there.

I think this thread i more of one of those. "I had a bad time at my local store on one order so I think NONE of you should go to your local stores and order things"

I use it all the time Lowe's too never an issue at each.

Now this I did have happen once. I needed black lights. I wanted four. They were on top shelf. Couldn't find anyone who worked in that section. finally got ladder and went up there myself and got it. Then I got into a loud shouting match with employee who finally showed up.

Yep, I've never had a problem.

It helps if you know something about the product you're ordering, or know how to use the internet.
