Agreed, every new commercial building looks like the lobby / breakfast area of a Hyatt Place.

I agree that modern architecture and design is horrific. The evolution of fast food restaurants and even suburban shopping centers has been depressing to see. The buildings are less welcoming,

It was becoming a tourist attraction. It's a private home and the neighbors and the homeowner were all getting annoyed.

Does that really decrease tourist traffic for people who WANTto go see it?

Here's the street. It's easy to find the address. Just find place blurred out on Google Maps.

Unfortunately, hideous wallpaper appears to be resurging.

I don’t understand the obsession with this trend. Why does every living space have to look like a sterile doctor’s office?

Does this include painting your brick house white? Maybe 1 out of 5 are done correctly.

I drove by the house in July.

They were doing construction on the house outside and the street in front was also torn up - probably fixing street drainage.

there was no front door. it was just a piece of plywood mounted over the door entrance.

Yep. That as well as hand-painted murals. Ask me how I know.

Hmm.... the landing up top looks completely different. there is a goods width of stair there in the OG...It looks way too thin.... and the next flight of stars looks like it doesnt have the long taper..... suspect.

Also different in parenting, could you imagine the outcry on social media if a parent did the same thing today.

Now some positive may occur with it as you may have someone offer to take the mom on a private jet back to Chicago.

And Kevin wouldn’t be strolling around town for long as people would have seen him and reported him to police.

Sorry if I messed up the plot to Home Alone Redux.

in all fairness, with the costs of health care my doctors office doesn't even approach that in sterility.

But I do get what you are saying.

Modern design is not for aesthetics and ambience. It is for building cheaply.

It is easier, faster and cheaper to build a white box than a basilica.

Modern houses need modern weapons.

If you were McAlister... What modern items would you use as weapons in this new home?
