Because people try to sympathize with others? Yeah that's the worst part of the internet.
Appearing to sympathize with others for good boy points is, though.

Then same goes for anyone who posts their "Ts and Ps" comments after each disaster or shooting or whatever.
I still think sharing intimate details of a failing relationship on social media wins the award.

I wonder how many people making fun of the OP posts changed their Facebook or Instagram profiles after the Charlie Hebdo shooting? Or posted about being in solidarity with some other state/city following a Hurricane?

Yeah that's under the "Ts and Ps" post umbrella IMO.

Ts and Ps is something I dont do, and is somewhat cringe, but posting "thoughts and prayers", and apologizing for being white is slightly different in cringe worthiness

Only the true heads get deep cuts like that

There was a riot on the streets
Tell me where were you?
You were sittin' home watchin' your TV
While I was participating in some anarchy
First spot we hit it was my liquor store
I finally got all that alcohol I can't afford
With red lights flashin' time to retire
And then we turned that liquor store into a structure fire.
Next stop we hit it was the music shop
It only took one brick to make that window drop
Finally we got our own p.a.
Where do you think…

Apologizing for being white isn't what's in the OP though unless I missed it.
I do agree that the over the top ones are super cringe.

90% of the white people I have seen on TV protesting in Minneapolis have either been soys, or the purple/blue haired fat chicks. The typical ones you see all over TV and Youtube protesting/talking over people about whatever the hot topic protest of the day is.

Are you going to copy and paste the same shite in every thread?

The one on the left. Easily. The fact that people post this as a gotcha is fricking ridiculous

I have one friend (white woman) who lives in a very nice house in a nice neighborhood. She doesn't work (despite having an advanced professional degree) as her husband appears to have a well-paying job. This week she transitioned from daily scoldings of those not fully on board with locking themselves in their house for eternity because of the coronavirus to telling everyone how ashamed she was to be white. Bemoaning her "privilege", etc, etc. She then ended her post with "what can I do to help (racism)?"
There was vigorous discussion in response by her and her like minded (and like social status) bozos until I posted (very politely) in response to her question: "Perhaps you and your family could move to the ghetto and take a boots on the ground approach to fighting racism from within the disenfranchised neighborhoods?" She's also a big Michael Jackson fan, so I added "You know. You could start with the (wo)man in the mirror."
DEAD.SILENCE.
You see, she doesn't actually want to "help". Or at least in any meaningful sense. No, she wants to remain in her nice house, in her safe neighborhood, with her kids in a school with 2-3 black students from equally well off families and feign action and outrage from the hilltop...all while becoming silently nervous anytime a black man in a non-luxury car drives through her neighborhood.

I also like this
"So its ok white people burn cities when their sports team wins? Stay woke"
Like who said it was ok then?

To be fair, it is okay for WVU and Philly fans apparently.
Or rather, it's expected
