I can live with James Earl Jones being Mark Hamil's father.

Except James Earl Jones as Mark Hammill's father doesn't make sense.

But James Earl Jones as the voice of the evil half robot Sith Lord who was burned and dismembered by Luke Skywalker's mentor...that makes sense.

Any person should be able to do any voice, because they are just voices. Putting a racial barrier around them is asinine.

The actor was good and it was less egregious than other examples. I quickly got past it and all the other questions it brings up

I don't know who that is, so it doesn't really change the story for me.

Yeah I have nothing against him or the other actors but they 100% should have been pale whites with silver hair and blue eyes

You have a point.

The Rock played that Sheriff Beaufort T Justice or whatever in that movie that Ham Solo keeps going on about.

I heard it did well.

I mean I think it's explained away that they were from another line of Valerians or something.

What REALLY pissed me off was when they cast Idris Elba in the dark tower movie as Roland Deschain,

You know, Roland Deschain, son of Steven, of the line of Arthur Eld?

With ice blue eyes, who Odetta James calls "honkey mufuh."

Yeah. That ain't right

Also, it’s kind of sad that there will always be someone willing to take on these roles knowing they are not accurate and only in it to meet some diversity quota. It is also insulting towards the real life characters from the story to not be accurately represented. I don’t know.

There was that black actor who refused to take James Bond for that reason, I think.

Little Mermaid wouldn’t have bothered me as much except for the fact that it was written by a Danish guy, and Denmark is whiter than the North Pole. Also the fact that the intention was inclusion but when it came to marketing it in China they airbrushed her skin to make her lighter and put the advertising focus more on Sebastian and Flounder.

Morgan Freeman s character "Red" in Shawshank Redemption is an Irish descendant red head in Steven Kings book.

Bond, LeJames Bond.

Easiest thing there would be to create LeJames Bond and say he's one of the many babies James made with a Bond Girl. It would be 100% on brand.

And Dave Chappelle played one of the merry men of Sherwood Forest in men in tights. And that movie sucked.

That movie was purposely silly. I love it.

I’d love it if someone with the money to do so would do a remake of Roots with an all white cast

It's called "blackwashing" and it's part of the current entertainment writing philosophy of "pale and male is stale". It's even to the point where many white, male writers have trouble getting jobs just for being white and male.

This is known and undisputed. Except for the Moderates on this board who argue Hollywood isn’t woke
