As to what people think of it that's up to them but it's not like he is saying he never touched her. He apologized for not reading the situation the way she did when it happened and once again now.

I don't get why she didn't just leave. The story on babe's website doesn't mention her thinking about leaving the apartment. He didn't force her to do those things, she just did it and experienced regret, which do many of us as females have. But still, it wasn't rape, just a guy trying to get laid playing all the moves and she just went with it, getting mad at herself for not leaving when she felt uncomfortable.
