You really don't know if WWI film footage had sound?

I saw something on Youtube recently where they had a lip reader viewing a lot of old film, particularly WWI film, and telling folks what those cats were saying. Not saying they're related, but that's what's going on here.

There has been lots of work to add sound to the old silent footage over the years. Hell, a good bit of WWII film footage doesn't have sound, for that matter.

I rarely go to the movies but will definitely see this.

Dumb question I'm sure but if you go to a 3D showing but don't wear the glasses does it look normal or is it all fuzzy?

Couldn't tell you, don't think I've ever spent the extra money for 3D tix. However, I don't see this movie being particularly compatible with 3D.

I'm sure they do. Which is why, if they care about history on the Northshore, they should go see it on either December 17 or December 27.

It's all fuzzy and unwatchable. It looks like a normal movie, but if you would take LSD and take your glasses off.

For a while I was upset that it wasn't showing in BR. When I first learned about it, the closest showing was in Covington.

I am very excited they are showing it here now and I have my tickets. It's a work night but will be worth it.

It should be, I mean it’s a Peter Jackson film. It’s gotta be pretty good you would think.

The Lovely Bones disagrees.

However, that trailer looks amazing. I recently finished "Countdown to Armageddon" series in Dan Carlin's Hardcore History podcast, and I am totally fascinated with WWI now. It can be argued it is the single largest event in human history in the last 200 years, and still has direct impact on the way things are today. Sign me up

Just walked out.

First time I was really able to conceptualize it all through the soldiers' eyes and not just as old historical figures. Highly recommend.
