Trailer

Peter Jackson’s documentary on the British experience in WWI. Shot in color with commentary and I believe actual ‘sounds’ from the film. I don’t know if they engineered the sounds or if they’re authentic. It’s got 98% thumbs up on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it’s only screening in the states for two nights, 12/17 & 12/27. Just bought my ticket, one for me and one for my grandfather who got me interested in history.

I can’t wait to see this film.

All across the nation, just for those two dates, though.

Why put so much time into something to only have it in theaters for two days?

Shark, you’re a pretty big history fan if I recall. I’m reading A World Undone: The Story of the Great War right now by GJ Meyer, Carlin cites it a lot in his Blueprint for Armageddon series. You ever read it?

I believe it’s showing for weeks in the UK, as it’s more of a UK film, other than that, idk why it’s only showing here for two days. Possibly because we don’t hold WWI with as much weight in the US as they do across the pond.

WWI fascinates me, just bought two tickets for the 7pm show. I’m sure there’s a reason but I don’t get why it’s such a limited release in the states.

I think it’s because of the weight that WWI holds in the UK is much more so than it does here.

I saw that trailer/BTS video about a month ago and it blew me away. I'm 100% going to go to that.

It should be, I mean it’s a Peter Jackson film. It’s gotta be pretty good you would think.

Probably wouldn't be shown in the US at all if it weren't for potential Oscar nominations.
