Yeah sure you did. YOU hiked? You used to make fun of hiking. You crack me up.
I know I did
Went a few times with family and got hooked. Now I go solo and spend days out there.

Just watched 127 Hours for the first time in years last night. Might need to make this guy/story into a movie too.

I'd be surprised if he didn't get giardia from all that stream water.
Yeah, guy needs potable water to keep from shitting himself. Sounds sketchy.

In California wouldn’t the follow flowing water to bigger flowing water trick be a guaranteed exit plan?

and how is this guy measuring a gallon of water?
He had a 3 gallon jug and a 5 gallon jug.

Maybe he had a filter. I drink out of creeks and use a Sawyer squeeze

I can't imagine how any adult can get lost in today's age. If you're a hiker you can buy those specialized GPS devices that are made specifically for that.

90% of the time when hiking in the mountains I have no phone reception. Went 4 days in Colorado on a solo hike with none.
So 10% of the time you have a signal, and can pull up a map and see where you’re at, or at least call someone.
I’ve hiked in the mountains as well. It’s not that hard to find a spot where you’ll likely get a signal.
This dude was a dumbass that wasted other peoples time and money.
