My parents gave me a toolbox with a set of good Craftsman tools. Still using them decades later.

Dude, he’ll need them in 4 months to start interviewing for internships for next summer. The good internships start recruiting in the fall for the proceeding summer.

You think he could get 4 more years out of it? If so, don't buy him a vehicle because once he graduates and get a job, one of the first things he will want to do is buy a new vehicle.
Go to Edward Jones and open an account for him and invest the money and set it up so he can't access it right now. And since his school is paid for, if he wants spending money, encourage him to get job. Make sure he learns how to appreciate his money before he can access what you gave to him.
