Trucks are way overpriced, but you don't have to pay that. Most people don't seem to understand that.

I laugh every time I see an adult driving some monster truck. The manufacturer would have put clown tires and accessories on it if it improved it. Instead I see a not to distant future of a bunch of busted up trucks that don’t track straight and get really bad gas mileage.

Are you talking about haggling? Because if you haggle 8k off the price of a 60k truck you still just paid 52k for a truck
If you are talking about buying a stripped down model then yes. You can get a truck and not pay a fortune.

People weren't as fat in the 80s

I think it's more equivalent to the land yachts of the 70s.
Mostly because every older man I know that drives a high end truck now used to always drive a Lincoln or Cadillac back then.

If you got shi! to pull / haul and enough money, what’s the problem?
Title should be:
High end truck now = luxury car in the 80’s?
I’ve been in some trucks that put the current line up of luxury cars ( in the same price range 70 to 80 thou) to shame. Plus in a luxury car you just look like tool, no other practical reason to own one. At least you can do shi! with a truck. Truck nutts and jacked up ones excluded, they make you look like a bigger tool.

You can buy a XLT, LT, SLT super crew for like 30-31k. They won't have leather seats but they aren't stripped down work truck packages by any means
