Back in the 80’s growing up, every cheesy 80’s poster had a hot chick with a Ferrari or Lamborghini. Is the jacked up full sized truck the current status symbol equivalent? Is this part of the reason for inflated new truck prices?

Cars are for wusses and people in the 80s were wusses with their woman hair

That’s why us millenials drive trucks

Where else are you going to store your kid’s lacrosse sticks and golf clubs?

I assumed it was because they were driving their parents cars. Since they still all lived together.

Overcompensating is overcompensating whether its a car or a truck.

Anything you put a high price on will be a status symbol

In rural areas maybe. Although I assume that was always the case, even in the 80s. Outside of the Deep South and rural Midwestern United States, driving a truck is for blue collar laborers and delivery drivers.

New Orleans streets will tear up a sports car. Hell, Lakeview has some half-million-dollar homes that are practically inaccessible by anything with less ground clearance than a crossover.

Lakeview ripped one of my ABS wires on a lifted Jeep.

I dont think we should use those fricked up streets as a measuring stick.

I actually know someone that totaled a 3 year old Hyundai going through a pot hole in Lakeview

It's almost unthinkable how shitty the roads are in NOLA

Some of the roads. A lot of them are pretty decent.
