I don't watch the show and not really familiar with her, but what she said was not directed at anyone. If anyone was truly offended by this then that is a them problem.

It won't. Too many black people are so thin skinned and too many white guilt liberal women.

I think there will eventually be a pendulum swing. People are tired of being tone policed. That's my hope, anyway.

That would be the common sense approach... sadly common sense doesn't apply. You cannot sing along, you cannot read aloud, you cannot recount a story, you aren't even permitted to think it.

It's one of the most ridiculous, society fully adopted rules of this century. It's even more ridiculous than the trans shite, because at least half or more of the population pushes back on that... but damn the magic word.

Uhhh

ETA: And it appears she was leaving on her own accord anyway

quote:

While the first two episodes of season nine aired in July 2025, Curtis shared on social media last summer that she made the “executive decision to shelf” the rest of the season and would release them at a later date. New episodes were then set to drop on Feb. 11, but the series has now been removed from HGTV platforms, according to the network.

Apologies won't save her.

She'd have been better served with a well timed "n¡§§@, please."

That makes it even stranger. Looks like HGTV was looking for a way to cancel the contract and avoid future payments.

If we are to assume this is really what she said, the only people that would know about it are the ones that were on set at the exact moment. They are not airing the show live. It would have been one of the many scenes they could just cut out or work around. Instead, they had to make a public statement about it and now they get to remove her show from their platforms and not have to worry about future payments.

Kinda hard to do considering she was bailing But it looks like it was best for both parties.

I've heard fart knocker, but this is a new spin.

Also, she's cute as hell.

So... just so I am clear.

This wasn’t a live broadcast.

It was recorded, and never aired.

But, somehow, this was hurtful to viewers?

Seriously?

She should have said she was thinking about an ICE agent when she said it. Would have been all good.

Knowing there's a production timeline to all this, the skeptic in me is more likely to think that her decision to bail was made shortly after this got filmed.

The first lie submitted gets to establish the truth.

A statement from Curtis' team sent exclusively to The Detroit News on Wednesday night said Curtis "is deeply saddened by the hurt her words have caused."

Caused by who? The people with her laughed or had no reaction, because they knew it was just a random expletive she chose. But oh, she said the word that must not be spoken. It seems like any “hurt” was unnecessarily caused by publishing the video. So now, Let’s cancel her.
