re: Here's Why the Tesla Model 3 Is the Coolest Car of 2017

you also think Tesla will not be around in a year?
They have not proved themselves to be a viable company. They need to turn regular profits without the dependency on EV incentives from the federal government - which may not be around much longer.
I think they are grossly overvalued as a company and Elon Musk always misses production targets and launch dates.
If it were a real company, they'd be out of business now.

The reason it's the coolest car is because no one can get one. I love tesla and even had a spot reserved but musk is full of shite with his predictions and time lines for the model 3. I wasnt going to get mine until Q1/2 of 2019 so I don't think it's reasonable to call this the coolest car of the year when the only people that are going to get it are tesla execs/families and high level investors.

My best friend was slated to get his December of this year, but he also loves Tesla so he never took that date seriously.

Funny that I'm the issue, not the guy quoting me taking the other side just for the sake of arguing while he actually agrees with me. Nah, THAT is not the guy who keeps the argument going for pages, it's me.

It's ok for Musk to lie and mislead his paying customers and people are silly for believing him or pointing it out.

And, yes, I think TSLA will "be around" next year. They have shown the ability to continually borrow money every year Musk has owned Tesla to meet payroll. If that debt market dries up for them, they are dead in the water.

Again, it's something you agree with, you know they won't hit the target. You're arguing with me for the sake of arguing while complaining that I'm arguing. Pretty weird strategy you're coming at me with, gotta be honest.

Well part of the reason I put money down was hoping I'd get the tax credits and now we pretty much know that's not going to happen. I'll still get a model 3 (or Y if that comes out before 2020) eventually but there's no point in being a reservation holder anymore. And BTW the gov did the right thing taking away the tax credits, we shouldn't be buying people luxury cars.

People are going to wreck playing with that screen

"We know we can't believe what Musk says about future production but we don't care."
And it proves the "fan boy" statement others have made in this thread.

General Motors beat this nimble little start up to the affordable EV market.
And GM was also bailed out by the government. So why does Tesla = bad and GM = good?

quote:Yes but my point still stands.
You understand that's an indictment against the management of Tesla, right?
If you loved Tesla and knew a lot about Tesla and put a deposit down on a Tesla Model 3, would you have expected to get it or would have expected delays?
I feel like you don't understand the true crux of what I'm stating, I'm simply talking the reality of it all, the reality is if you know Tesla you'll expect delays in production.
I disagree on the fanboy side. If you like the car, you like the car. If you like the car and don't mind the certainty of delays, what's the issue?
FWIW, I've already said I didn't get one because I figured there would be issues with the 1st models coming out, and would prefer to re-evaluate whether I want one after a couple of years, so I'm not even one of them that has to have the 1st model, I just don't see the issue if someone does want the 1st models and know there will be delays that come with it.

Nonsensical statement....
I don't think you even know what posts spawned this argument, to be honest.
Are you stating you would reply to a post of mine and disagree with my statement despite you already agreeing with it?

And GM would’ve been gone 10 years ago. So, once again, why is GM seemingly viewed favorably vs. Tesla here?
