Gun confiscation would fix this.

When in doubt, empty the mag. Ammo is cheap, your life isn't.

good job for the police. too bad they didnt have better aim., but at least they hit a running target. sad thing is the thug kid will be back on the street soon enough, and with a bigger hatred of police.

If they shot the kid in the back while he was running away, even with a weapon, the police were likely wrong in their shooting. If they believed he was a danger to others, an immediate and imminent danger, then the shooting is justified. The kid, on the other hand, was definitely wrong.

Kid was probably running to volunteer at a local church.

Waiting on the usual picture of him in a graduation cap and tassel.

Being in possession of a gun doesn't justify the cops shooting you in the back. If he pointed it yes, carrying it no.

He fled 150 yards then the cops shot him? Did the cops have rifles?

City police shot and injured a 13-year old Baltimore boy Wednesday as he fled carrying a semi-automatic pistol, FoxBaltimore reported. The teenager was approached by the officers on Baltimore Street, east of the Inner Harbor area, around 4 p.m. after they noticed him carrying what appeared to be a semi-automatic firearm, law enforcement officers told the station. The boy then fled “a good 150 yards and had every opportunity to drop the gun,” Police Commissioner Kevin Davis said. The officers then fired at the teen, who was later being treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

If you don't know what the frick you'retalking about, there's no need to grab the keyboard. Exactly what is this generalized, blanket statement based on?

Here, I'll try one: If LSUTANGERINE posts in a cop thread, he's usually full of shite.

Real question:

If the kid hadn't threatened anyone with the weapon, pointed it at anyone, or fired it, is he still considered an imminant threat while fleeing and can/should an officer shoot them for fleeing from an officer?
