Somewhere like brusly or Addis will have good schools and be close enough to BR. Crossing the bridge will be the main issue—especially if you’re trying to go into BR between 3-6pm.

Where will your wife be working? Your timeline for moving will put you in Baton Rouge right as the major construction on the interstate will be kicking in. St. Gabriel would give you easy access to LSU and south Baton Rouge.

I was about to suggest that he throw "I don't want to fight any traffic" into this impossible dream.

Judging by headlines in BR... brick house with no windows. Might want to barricade that front door.

Good luck soldier.

Don't listen to this dumbass. Traffic coming to BR is not good though.

There's decent places to live in BR, just do your homework.

Riverbend or Riverbend Landing are both great neighborhoods.

In about a year, the commute in from anywhere but adjacent to campus is going to be a literal nightmare. Don't say i didn't warn you!

For schools, commute(proximity to LSU), and mostly conservative folks:

1. St Francisville area. Easiest commute for traffic although it's a greater distance from LSU. There's fewer people and plenty of trees.

2. My map area below of the Dutchtown, Geismar, Prairieville(south of 61) area in Ascension Parish. We live out here and spend a lot of time in Baton Rouge/LSU.
My lady commutes to BR 5 days a week. She checks Google traffic and will take HWY30(Nicholson) if 10-West is backed up from a wreck. Otherwise it's no more than 30 minutes(you can get to LSU in about 20 minutes with no traffic).
