I am not in dire need of medical care, I just don't want to have to pay the penalty or spend an exorbitant amount of money per month.

Small business owner here. I received a letter saying my family plan was going to be canceled. The replacement plan offered is $2k/month premium with $10k deductible for family of four.

Frick you Obama

I found a policy on the open market that's better than the silver plan on the exchange and cheaper.

Damn, really? I had a meeting with someone representing BCBS last week, and she highly recommended I go through the marketplace due to my salary being below $47k which qualifies me for a tax credit on my monthly premium.

I asked her to go ahead and quote me the BCBS prices in the open market anyway, and they were extremely high. Higher than I remember seeing when I looked via the marketplace myself.

See if you can find a cash only doctor in your area and maybe find catastrophic insurance.

They don't have in and out of network. Those are just ones they recommend. Not sure how you get on the list.

I know there's a guy in Biloxi who's a member and CHM helped him with his bills.

Trump said he would fix it. Let's see. Small business people are waiting to find out. We need it.

1. Impeach and jail Obama
2. Pay the penalty by adjusting your withholding as much as you can
3. Concierge medical care
4. MAGA

You can do #2 and #3 on your own
You can help with item 4
You can pray for item 1

You're welcome

Trump is coming, hang on. He's going to make healthcare truly affordable again.

Yup, recently changed jobs to a much smaller company.

Premiums doubled as well as deductible.

Pretty much sucks.

Blame obama, but all you insurance bitches put there can suck a dick as well.

Topic is too boring to read all the replies

But go to the healthcare marketplace (.gov) and put in your info. You may qualify for a tax subsidy. I got really good coverage for only $140 a month

I did my cousin's taxes this year, and to avoid the penalty, he just checked some shite like no affordable healthcare options

Plus IIRC it's a very small penalty

A subsidy means someone else is paying for it, sbp. What about getting on David's insurance? What does he do?

I can get a bronze plan here in Colorado for about that rate, but that level of coverage is disappointing.

I'm ignorant on this but why not go for a cheaper option. When I was searching, I saw a whole range of plans from $20 on up to $500 plus as options?
