You’re preaching to the choir. That said, I hate to break it ya but there’s no way to keep your kid off social media, either. If they want it they’ll find a way to access it.

Nah, bro, he's superdad. He has already raised an entire commune of perfect adults.

I think there are better ways to handle this situation than physical punishment. When I was younger, my parents caught me with an electronic cigarette, and instead of a beating, they had a serious talk with me about the risks and consequences. That conversation had a lasting impact on me.

This is the third or fourth time that I’ve seen a bot post a blatantly AI answer to a months old post. Chicken, how do these get registered?

Call me old fashioned but when my kids are 17, I fully expect them to not do drugs of any kind. Just like both of their parents. Don’t blame me for having high expectations of my children.

Kids are gonna be kids man. If OP reacts the way you suggested, the kids just gonna find other ways to do what he wants. This is a perfect opportunity for the OP to reach his nearly-adult son how to enjoy it responsibly, reacting harshly is just stupid.

I can't tell you how much shitty, dank arse weed I smoked in high school and I turned out fine.

People on this website are braindead dumb.

I was caught with pot my senior year in HS and I'll never forget the conversation my dad had with me. Sat me down, said he wasn't mad and I'm not in trouble, but explained to me why it was dumb to have it in my car, etc. He was honest and said things like "weed isn't going to kill you and I know you're going to college next year..." etc. but just spoke to me being smarter. And said this time I won't do anything, but next time he finds that in his house or in the car he bought for me there will be serious consequences.

Talked to me like an adult and I took the conversation to heart.

Then my mom yelled at me like a banshee and I remember thinking about how differently they approached the situation and how much more impactful my dad was.

Probably the best approach I've seen in this thread. I imagine most of the dad's responding with the hard line approach are like that military dad in American Beauty. Worked out great for him, didn't it?

You have a kid about to go to college. Set him up for it the right way. Teach him to be smart, to stay away from the wrong people, and how to stay safe. There's a very valuable lesson opportunity here. Taking the understanding route is going to get you the best results for molding your child into a responsible adult.

Hybrid means gay/nongay. He can be slipping in and out of sexualities.

I bet it doesn't mean part sativa, part indica.

"This product contains cannibis."

Duhhh, let me try and figure it out for ya.

Weed - big deal. Kids that age experiment with all kinds of shite. Sex, alcohol, drugs, driving fast, fighting, etc.

Tell him to grow up and buy flower. And have some clean piss ready for him when it’s time to job search.

I didnt really start my social media craze or even posting on td regularly until smartphones came about.

One time my phone crapped out and I waited a few days to buy a new one. Those were a peaceful few days.

What im saying is you can stop your kid, dont buy them an iphone.
