Help for mother and son struck by vehicle while Trick-or-Treating

I don't generally post things like this, but since it happened local to me and to a family that's already been through a great deal recently, I thought I'd share. I know it's in Georgia and most of you are Louisiana folks, but kindness and generosity aren't bound by state lines (or team allegiances! ). I just want to try and get this family some help to soften the blow.
I don't personally know this family, but on Halloween night, the mother and son were struck in a crosswalk by a driver who was texting and speeding through the area in downtown Statham, Georgia. Every Halloween, this community has a HUGE trick-or-treat event that people from all over bring their kids out to. There are always somewhere between 2,500 and 3,000 kids and parents walking the sidewalks with police blockading the two ends of the main street that runs through the historic district. Where this crosswalk is located is just past one of those blockades. Unfortunately, there's always at least one person who doesn't pay attention (and on a night where they KNOW that kids will be out and about), and now this family is dealing with yet another major setback. They just lost their infant daughter about a month ago to make things that much worse.
If you can offer anything to help, they have a GoFundME page set up here: LINK
I'm sure they will appreciate anything, prayers included.
Thanks for taking the time to read.

Does the driver not have insurance?

Unbelievable, God be with them. People don’t pay attention anymore.

If another driver made my son look like this due to their inattention, I would kill said driver on the spot. Just beat the hell out of them. I wouldn't be able to hold back.

I can tell you a pedestrian accident is nothing to take lightly. My wife was struck my a truck in our neighborhood almost two years ago while she was jogging. She is still fighting back and feet issues. We know the guy who hit her and his insurance is still paying out towards her bills. I hope they can find the driver who hit these tow people.

While I am understand the instant anger and rage you and I would feel in this situation, as hard as it would be, youd have to show self restraint. What good would it do for your son to grow up without a father bc you are now in jail?
Believe me, Id want to slowly beat the shite out of a person who hurt my family, but you have to think of the bigger picture after the child recovers from the injuries.

Thank you.
Also, not sure about the driver's insurance. I'll just say it's totally possible there is none. My wife was rear-ended TWICE between September and December last year, and BOTH drivers of the at-fault vehicles had no insurance. It's ridiculous. We are getting small payments from them every month or so to cover insurance deductibles thanks to the prosecutor in the cases. These folks couldn't even come up with $250 at once (deductible on my insurance for an uninsured motorist). I can't imagine trying to get whatever these medical bills will look like from someone in a similar situation, though I do hope an attorney is able to do something for them.

Not sure what the first one is. The injury pics are definitely the right people, though.
EDIT: I figured this out. Apparently some people added their own photos in with their comments down at the bottom. It appears that when you do that, those photos get added to the page's photos. Weird that it's set up like that, but I don't guess they (GoFundMe) anticipated that people other than the campaign creators would add comments with photos not related to the campaign itself.

Here in Houston, you are effed if you don't have uninsured motorist coverage.
Hope that family heals up soon brother

Yeah, I'm glad we do. We had just bought her car, too.

Thank you. I can't imagine having that happen to any of my kids. The life-flight chopper buzzed in over our house as we got out in our driveway and my heart just sank. This could have been MUCH, MUCH worse. I've thankful it was not.

Sounds as if none of the parties were paying attention. Sorry, but this isn't all on the driver unless there were police there stopping traffic and he ran thru them.

eh, I don't know about that. You can't kill someone over a car wreck
also, how about you focus on your child who was just hit by a car instead of fighting the driver of the vehicle ?
