Help. Key ignition won't turn.

Getting a Lexus RX330 ready to sell. Replaced alternator and battery last week. Everything ran fine Friday night.
I get in it yesterday to go gas up and the ignition won't turn at all. Not one bit. I've looked online and tried:
* disconnecting the battery for a few yours.
*Tapping on the ignition with a hammer
* Turning the steering wheel (managed to lock it after a few turns)
* spraying WD40 on ignition.
Any suggestions? Very frustrating.

Pull the key back out a little before you try.

Jiggle the steering wheel while pumping the brakes.

Cause it’s a push button start, Einstein.

Is the key worn down? If so get a new one.

Lock cylinder mechanism is broken.
You will have to tow it to the dealer for repairs.
You can do it yourself (I have) but the steering column has bolts that the heads break off (to prevent theft). Not an easy process. Then you have to have new keys made and programmed at the dealer.
On old vehicles, you just picked up a new lock mechanism and in less than an hour- good to go.
Not anymore.

Make sure your gear selector is fully in the park position. Also pull on the steering wheel, it could have the ignition jammed (happens occasionally on my truck).

Help. Key ignition won't turn
That's the best I can help, otherwise I got nothing.

Google says keep trying to turn the wheel left and right while trying to turn the key.

Same thing happened to me when I was trading in mine. It's like the car knows it's being traded in.

My ex had this issue once. She hadn't put it fully in park since something was in the way of the shifter. Check if you've got something in the way of it fully engaging

put the key in the ignition and hit the key a couple of times with the heel of your hand. Just a sharp little rap. I have a truck that occasionally does this and my Polaris ranger will also do this. Usually, a couple of hits on the key like you are trying to force it in more frees them both up.
