Hey Everybody,
I am msgategirl. My name tells you a lot about me. I was born and raised in Memphis, TN. I have lived half of my life in TN and half in northern Mississippi.

I consider myself a Mississippian though.

The "ms" in my moniker stands for Mississippi.
The "gate" stands for my love of all things Stargate and scifi in general.
The "girl" is because I am female. I believe all females are called girls and all males boys no matter the age.

My connection to Cajun culture and LSU is kind of funny. I grew up in Ole Miss and Memphis State territory. I was a very rebellious teen and so when it came time for me to go to college my parents said I had to go to a Mississippi university. Well, the University of Southern Mississippi is as far away from north Mississippi as I could get and still have "in state" tuition. I loved going to college at USM. I think that there were only 3 students from the north Mississippi area attending USM when I was enrolled there. I was so far from home I could only go home 1 or 2 times a semester. My sophomore year I joined a Sorority. My sorority was new to the campus so the girls from LSU came over to initiate us. They were just the cutest girls.
So that explains my LSU connection. My cajun culture came to my by my own sorority sisters taking me home with them on weekends to meet their families and to show me the fun places in Louisiana.

My football leanings:

I love Southern Miss. Go Eagles...

I am also a fan of Memphis State... Go Tigers

I am generally fond of all the SEC teams.

It is not nice to say ugly things about people but I will say this.

USM is and has always been the largest most advanced University in the state, but it gets no respect and treated as the step child and I resent that. I can't slam the other Universities because I have family history with both. I have had family attending Ole Miss since the 1930's. My father played football at Arkansas and Miss.State. So then there is that.

Gotta love LSU It is an awesome university

My other favorite team is Florida State.
