It’s not computing with me how a storm with 140mph wind speed has 65 mph wind in the eye wall. Need one of you weather guys to explain. Haven’t seen a reported wind on land over like 70

Mesonet station in Steinhatchee failed after recording an 83 mph gust 50 minutes ago.

So where can a normal person who can’t gauge wind speed but an anemometer??? I assume Amazon?

Pretty much. We are physically in Gwinnett, with a Hoschton mailing address. We are probably as close to Dacula as we are Braselton, and for some reason our trash hauler says we are in Auburn.

My friends house in St Pete is about to be fricked. Still have a few hours before it stops rising. His dock is completely underwater now.

A) Recon actively tries to find the strongest winds in the storm over water at 33 feet in the air. The chances of those same winds being sampled with fixed land locations is basically impossible.

B) Friction and height. Friction with land and the fact few anemometers are at 10m (33ft)
