I keep vodka in a spray mist bottle, spritz it on me and then wipe it off. It cools me off and gets that sticky feeling off of you. I had a large supply of SKYY vodka and don't drink so that's what I did with it. I kept it in the cooler when we were doing roofs after Gustav so it would be extra cool.

Seriously?? Never heard of this

I do roofing part time too btw

At least they won't have to be bused several miles away to the nearest rental car. My only complaint about San Diego.

Completely serious. The heat really gets to me the the vodka worked for me. If you are roofing, you know how hot it gets up there and how sweaty and gross you feel after being up there all day.

I was drafted into roofing by my BIL. He was doing roofs for elderly family and friends and I have no fear of heights so he hired me to help. As it turned out, I was good at it and so he kept begging me to do "one more job". Well my BIL is a good guy and he was really helping people who badly needed a roof so i kept going back.

Yeah, people looked at me funny for being a 5 ft girl doing roofs and were surprised when they heard I was actually a certified teacher. They asked my BIL if he was going to pay me as much as I would make as a teacher and he replied " Is she gonna teach them shingles to read?" (But he paid me quite well and very much appreciated my help)

Anglo-Saxon Southerner ?

According to Missisppi Secessionists hell bent on maintaining slavery:

"..by an imperious law of nature none but the Black race can bear exposure to the tropical sun".

Its just something that you have to get used to.

Only things that help me are wearing a hat, drinking tons of water not Gatorade its only good for replenishing after a long day/workout not during. Eat a small lunch don't over due it and avoid fried foods.

How much water do you drink a day when you work outside and how much do you drink when you don't?

If you're working outside 6+ hours and not drinking 200+ ounces a day you're not drinking enough.

Fluids won't help you from sweating no matter how much you drink.
