I understand your angst, but you are on the OT......topics often get far more inappropriate.

And, to be honest, he’s not in the immune compromised group imho. He’s just overweight.

This is why we should just forget about containment and let the chips fall where they may. Sharpen the curve, I say.

How does one get diagnosed with the flu even though the test came back negative? That initial doctor has some explaining to do. I think that’s what may have put him in this position.

Symptoms? I think that's actually common.

worst case Between 160 million and 214 million people in the United States could be infected over the course of the epidemic, according to a projection that encompasses the range of the four scenarios. That could last months or even over a year, with infections concentrated in shorter periods, staggered across time in different communities, experts said. As many as 200,000 to 1.7 million people could die.

Where did you get that from

You're an idiot. Fox News is breathlessly hyping this as well. You've got your template but are too dim to stray from it. Typical.

correct, his weight by itself does not put him in compromised position. Not sure why people are saying it does.

Similar pattern but my body type is oline.....have always been bulky and thick waisted. Granted not so much now

I've never had a big waist for my size. I've just always been a big guy. In HS I weighed 200 lbs and wore a 31. Definitely have a dad bod now.

I think we've derailed the thread though. The average Southerner is overweight and nothing about this guy's pictures suggest to me that he would have major health issues from his. He might be 260, and yes that's pretty fricking fat, but his immune system could be perfectly fine.

This was my original point/concern. Maybe the government is lying to us and it isn't only impacting 85 yr olds with COPD

Because the test can miss 1 in 5 cases.

Not because of that test.

Exactly. He likely has undiagnosed HBP and or diabetes. His weight in and of itself is only a variable.

Technically Zion Williamson is obese according to BMI. Someone who runs up and down the court every night doing shite we wish we could. If Zion was “healthy” he’d weigh 210

Can you please stop referencing the 0.001% of people that BMI isn't relevant for?

Please explain how it isn’t relevant for him? Just because he’s an athlete?

Oh my goodness. Maybe we should remove the nursing home numbers first.

I think his weight his a variable that won’t be ignored by medical experts, because with his weight, there is a good chance there was also blood pressure issues, blood sugar issues, lung performance etc etc

Now, in saying that, it doesn’t make his case any less sad

Also, in saying that, there will certainly be deaths of truly perfectly healthy people that are completely fit, it will happen. But it shouldn’t be something we let paralyze is with fear

That’s pretty much I guess all I have to say here

You say that as if 30 or 40 pounds isnt a big deal. It IS a big deal and weight plays a role in your health. Speaking the truth on here doesn't change the state hes in.

It's such a stupid question it didn't merit much response. If you think a pro athlete who makes up an extremely small part of the general population has any statistical relevance to the guy in this article, you're not worth the time.

It does play a role but it isn’t the single cause for why he’s in the hospital on a vent
